We’ve

saving money!
Currently we have in place several discount promotions
from our sponsors that are available to students of the
Dirt Wise riding school. These are;

Sprockets (Ph. 775 7831750)

20% off any radiator guard purchase from Bullet
Proof Designs (Ph. 816 6953784)
-
A free day of riding on the 60 miles of golden
trails at Brushy Mountain Motorsports Park (Ph. 828
6357766), located near Taylorsville, NC
-
Able to purchase from me a set of Fasst Flexx
handlebars for $300, with free shipping (normally
$330 retail + $20 shipping)
The
big announcement is that now you can essentially get
your 2-day Dirt Wise riding school tuition fee of $350
paid for by Fun Mart Cycles, the largest selling KTM
dealer in the USA if not the world. Yep, that’s right
you get to come to one of my Dirt Wise offroad riding
schools for free! So how does this work I hear you ask?
Well, Tim and the awesome
crew at Fun Mart Cycles in Moline, IL (Ph. 309 7629624)
have now really stepped it up with the support of my
Dirt Wise riding school program by offering the majority
of Dirt Wise students a free discount coupon to the
value of $350 which can be used towards the purchase of
any new Honda, KTM, or Yamaha motorcycle. Not only does
Fun Mart offer the best prices anywhere but if necessary
they’ll deliver the bike to your door step nationwide
generally within 4 days. Plus it’s valid for any new
bike purchase, dirt or street. Now that’s a bonza deal
don’t you think!!!!
This offer is available to any student who has attended
a Dirt Wise school since the begining of 2008, except
for the following schools, Georgia (Feb 16/17 & Apr
5/6), Idaho (June 28/29), Oregon (July 3/4 & 5/6), and
Kansas (Oct 25/26). This out of respect for the KTM
dealers (KTM World, Motosports KTM, G & G Cycles, &
Letko) that have also help me out immensely with the
organizing of those individual schools.
Even if you haven’t attended one of our schools I’m
sure that these companies above will set you up on a
great price for their products anyway. Give them a call
and find out!
Not
only have Fun Mart Cycles lined up a roaring deal for
you guys but they have also loaned me two new bikes to
use for the rest of the year. One obviously will be the
bike that I ride while the other bike will be at the
majority of our schools on hand for anyone to rent for
the day. The rental cost per day will be $125. So if
your bike is broken, or if you don’t even have a bike,
or if you just want to visit another part of the country
and do some riding and training whilst there then we
have now got you covered.
Thanks to Fun Mart’s generosity I will now be able to go
ahead and sell off my 2007 KTM 250XC to someone would
like to buy a totally refurbished machine. The list of
new products on the bike include;
*New
Maxxis tires front and rear, *New chain and sprockets,
*New seat and plastics (shrouds, fenders, number
plates), *New rear brake lever and gearshift lever, *New
countershaft sprocket seal, *New piston and rings, *New
rear chain guide, *New grips, *New gearbox
(transmission) oil. *Clean airfilter and 3 spare filters
already oiled, *New rear brake pads, *New handlebars
(stock)
Along
with the following products that have 5 hours use (2 dry
GNCC races):
*Front chain guide, *Bottom rear shock bearing and
seals, *Rear wheel bearings and seals, *Complete rear
brake caliper, * FMF exhaust system (no dings in the
pipe)
All
this for the price of $3900 if you come and pick it up,
or for an extra $300 I have it delivered to your door.
Thanks to
www.ktmhutt.com for giving us some excellent pricing
on all of those KTM parts to get my bike back to A1
condition.
While
on the subject of used bike sales, I also have for sale
a 2008 KTM 300XC that only has 15 hours of use on it.
The bike was actually loaned to me by my good friend
Kenny after he got hurt, so as I could have a bike there
to ride if I needed to while waiting for mine to come
out of the repair shop. I only got to put in two 1 hour
sessions on it. It comes with;
*The
original tires in new condition (never used)
*A
set of new Cycra Powerflow Intake race system plastics
kit (shrouds, fenders, and number plates) still in the
box
*Clean airfilter
*New
gearbox (transmission) oil
*New
rear brake pads
*New
original handlebars (never used)
*An
extra set of new grips
The
exhaust pipe (stock) is perfectly straight but has some
discoloration (as normal) and some scuff marks from the
carbon pipe guard and hose clamps (pipe guard is not
included). The original plastics have normal “dulling”
scratch marks from the brush. The radiator shrouds are
cracked at the lower mount position. The rear fender has
3 drilled holes from mounting a tail light. The left
footpeg has a slight bend/dent in it. Other than that
the bike is mechanically perfect and ready to roost on.
This
stead will leave our barn for a steal at $5300 if you
come and pick it up, or for an extra $300 I have it
delivered to your door.
Now
for the not so good news of the month. Doug Masencup,
one of the riders from the local crew of “go fast guys”
that I ride with during the winter has unfortunately
been diagnosed with the same cancer that the great Lance
Armstrong had, and is now under going that same nasty
chemo as the first stage of his recovery. Doug is not
only a strong rider, but also a strong guy with a great
supporting family, so in conjunction with his friend
Russell Epley, also former SETRA Enduro overall race
winner during 2002 just like Doug, we are conducting a
raffle with all of
the proceeds going to offset the huge costs associated
with this treatment that he’s faced with. The tickets
are $5 each or 5 for $20 and will be drawn on June 14.
The winner will get free admission (value of $350) at
one of our 2-day Dirt Wise riding schools that we
conduct across the nation before June 15 2009. Even
though we have yet to release our school schedule up
until that date I can tell you that the list of states
we will definitely be visiting before then is; Northern
California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Idaho,
Oregon, Connecticut, Michigan, Minnesota, Tennessee, New
York, Kansas, West Virginia, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas,
Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, and Southern
California.
If
the winner is a previous Dirt Wise student we will
refund their tuition fee from the school that they
attended. The winner may select to have a different
person attend a school if they are unable to make it by
the expiry date. So please go ahead and get a raffle
ticket to support the fight of a lifetime and hopefully
you will be the lucky person that we get to see at an
upcoming Dirt Wise riding school. Tickets can be
purchased at our web store by visiting

Does
anybody out there have solid experience with being able
load and edit riding footage from a mini DVD camcorder
onto a website. We have got all of this excellent
footage of the Pro GNCC guys cutting laps during their
practice session that we want to put on my website but
after repeated attempts with different software my wife
Carrie (the brains of the operation here!) has been
unable to do it. She did the clips that are already up
on our site from a few years ago, but she can’t seem to
make it happen again. Any advice/direction on this would
certainly be appreciated. Hopefully we’ll get some new
footage up soon of Kearney, Whibley, Mullins, Kanney,
Garrahan, Strang, Jarrett, and more out there shredding
it.
