DirtWise/Maxxis/KLIM Race team rider Jason Thomas continued his run to the 2015 GNCC XC2 Pro Championship, with a solid 2nd place finish at Round 8 of the GNCC series, held over the weekend in Ohio.

Thomas impressed all by steadily moving forward all race long following a few mistakes incurred early in the race that dropped him behind the lead riders. “Any day that you finish 2nd after coming back from the things I had to contend with is a good day – it’s the type of day that wins Championships! After the problems at the beginning of the race my lap times were consistently faster than those of the lead riders but unfortunately I just ran out of laps to catch all the way back up and take the victory, falling short by about 20 seconds. I’m definitely happy with this result especially considering that this wasn’t one of my preferred tracks to race at, but the next race at Snowshoe is my favourite track of the year so I can’t wait to get ripping there!”

Thomas now has a healthy 52 point lead in the Championship standings.

Meanwhile, fellow DirtWise/Maxxis/KLIM Race team member Drew Higgins scored victory at Round 1 of the Texas Offroad Nationals series with a commanding performance. This result puts Higgins in top form to score an excellent result in the Expert/AA class at this weekend’s upcoming round of the National Enduro series in Wyoming.
