The DirtWise “Ready to Race” bike rental program has consolidated itself as a resounding success with the recent payment made by Australian offroad enthusiast Dave Sweeney, who is paying for the bike rental fee of young Aussie Offroad star Ben Kearns for one of his two races in the USA. Kearns is the current leader of the J3 class of the Australian Offroad Nationals with an undefeated season so far, and has arrived in the USA to do battle at the next respective National Enduro race and GNCC race with support from the ground breaking DirtWise “Ready to Race” bike rental program on a fully prepped KTM 200 two stroke machine.
Sweeney, a long time Offroad rider, said, “I have never even met Ben before but when I heard about such a great young talent like Ben heading to the US to gain more experience, it was only natural for me to offer support. After having a lot pleasure from riding for so many years it was the least that I could do to help get a young fella over there and have him progress to a higher level. This is a great way for me to pass on the passion and excitement that Offroad riding provides to all of us that are lucky enough to experience it!”
Kearns will be joined at these two races by three other Australian riders who will also be riding fully prepped DirtWise KTM machinery – current ISDE competitor Scott Campbell, former ISDE competitor Rod Kearns, and amateur rider Tom Barbour.
Kearns had this to say, “The generosity shown by Mr. Sweeney is unreal – I can’t thank him enough, and I plan to ride as hard as possible at these races. I am so happy to receive this opportunity to further my racing career and gain more racing experience! I know I’m with the right team to get the best support and achieve some great results.”
DirtWise owner, and Offroad racing legend, Shane Watts was also blown away by Dave Sweeney’s generosity, saying, “Dave attended one of our DirtWise Riding schools a few years ago and I found out then that he is a mad keen dirtbiker who loves a great ride out in the bush. I’m flattered that Dave choose to support Ben in this way because it shows that he is supremely confident that we can give Ben the best guidance and support to help him achieve the racing goals he has set himself!”
