The DirtWise/Maxxis/KLIM Race team rider Jason Thomas had a great start to the 2015 race season, with a third place finish at Round 1 of the GNCC series, which started last weekend in Florida.

Aiming for another strong run at the XC2 Championship in 2015, Thomas has impressed all by running up front for the majority of the race before the effects of a recent stomach virus resulted in extreme fatigue in the later stages of the race. “I bonked near the end but this was a great start to the Championship for me, and with some recovery time I can’t wait to regain strength and come out strong for Round 2 this coming weekend.”

Thomas’ team mate Josh Weisenfels had an eventful race with multiple crashes on the first lap as he continually charged to the front, one of which resulted in a slight concussion, so it was decided to have Josh withdraw from the race before further damage was done. “I was feeling great out there until things got blurry after one of the crashes. I’m going to sit out Round 2 to make sure I’m fully healed and ready to rip at Round 3!”.

Meanwhile, third team member, Drew Higgins from Texas, was on duty for Round 9 of the Texas State Enduro Championship and scored a triumphant Overall victory to increase his lead in the series standings. “I had a solid ride with no mistakes and I’m stoked to rack up another victory .”
